Is this the first year that JC Penney dumped their Xmas catalog?

I was in their today and asked the woman at checkout if they had one. What she showed me was about the size of one of their good sale catalogs, much smaller than usual and it was free. I remember when Sears got rid of theirs some years back, but don't remember hearing that JCP made the same announcement.
Have to admit I'm a bit bummed. I have many fond memories of looking through the catalog when I was a little girl (and knowing that anything I wanted was available at a discount because my Mom worked there). Don't have the money for most of it now, but I still feel bad.
