So I met a Puppy Mill Breeder Rescue today....
I was at the dog park with my little puppy today and happened to see a very beautiful Pomeranian sticking close to her owner. She flinched and cowered when I approached to pet her. Her owner explained that she was incredibly shy and in the 6mos since he got her from his sister she (the Pom) just was now letting him pet her with out fear. He explained that she had spent most of her life in a tiny crate waiting for the people (and i use this term loosely) to let in a male so she could have litter after litter.  I have read and heard about puppy mills before but this time I came face to face with that reality I just can't imagine spending my life just being used as an incubator basically in a cramped little crate.I can't find the right words to describe the sick feeling I got in my stomach after this realization .This beautiful dog should have a life running around chasing tennis balls and being loved and thankfully she is on her way to having that kind of life. I know I don't have to tell most DUers not to support puppy mills but please take this time to remind friends and family.

1. I'm so glad she's been rescued...
She will, ever so slowly, forget her former life and have a lovely time with her new owner.
It hurts to contemplate how cruel human beings can be...to each other and to other animals.

2. The same thing goes for the cat mills, the breeders for
Persians, Himalayans, Bengals, Siamese, etc. They make me sick just like the puppy mill breeders. I urge people not to buy full-breed animals every chance I get. Get pets from the local shelters!!!!!

Thank you for your post.

PS- my pets are rescues.

3. It would stand to reason that there are kitty mills
I have only one cat from a breeder (my mom got him for me when I was ten the breeder was her friend and was told that no one wanted my cat because he was black and it was a stupidstious area of BFE Texas) All the rest of my animals have just found me : Two were little kitties that came mewing at my doorstep and the puppy that I just got was left on the porch by neighbors who were moving :grr:

there on their lot when they moved. It's amazing how cruel some people are about animals. I took her in and she was a really nice cat, despite those jerks not feeding her very well.
