Yogurt question
I just found a sealed quart container of yogurt at the back of my fridge. Dated "best by 08/18/109"
It's ben refrigerated since I got it, it isn't moldy and it smells like....yogurt.

Is this any good, yogurt afficionados? Do I eat it with the fresh raspberries I have?

11. Generally, yes
Yogurt is made by fermenting bacteria in milk. If the culture dies, you still have yogurt because the taste and texture won't change. Yogurt with active cultures keeps longer because the good bacteria keeps away the bad.

Yogurt has been around for thousands of years and refrigeration is a relatively modern invention. Yogurt allows milk to be stored for longer periods with or without refrigeration.

Personally if it's that far outside the expiration, I'd play it safe and throw the shit out, but if it looks good and smells good, it's probably still good.

If you're that frugal about it, make your own yogurt. It's pretty simple.

7. Two months past the last date?
I'd say throw it out. I could see trying it two weeks past the date but not two months. I think you're just going to ruin the fresh raspberries.

12. It won't taste as good, but ...
... it's most likely safe to eat. Taste a bit first before putting on those raspberries.

13. Two months? No, I wouldn't eat that. Good without refrigeration?
Yeah, I remember some years ago they had milk in Mexico that didn't require refrigeration. My friend, when we were in Mexico always said, when I went out, hey, get some of that milk that doesn't need refrigeration.
I never found it but he bought it all the time.
Mexico has now discontinued it. All the people who drank it, died, I guess. Or got sick.
