Several years ago, I played in an online Star Wars rpg game with this one Game Master , and it went well for the first couple of sessions. Then, it went to hell, as he became controlling in the game, not even granting a reasonable request for a new starfighter, preferring that his players fly around in his super hyped-up fighter from hell that was pretty much past the Mary Sue boundary, if that's even possible for an inanimate object.
His continued hard headedness led to one player being kicked out of the game, simply because he wouldn't play along with the GM when it came to the ship. Said player's character was violently and humiliatingly written off a second later on a forum post, his ship unexplainedly blowing up with him in it.
Not agreeing with this, I left the group as well, and the GM threw a fit.
Over the years, his other posts on the game system's message boards have shown that he is still as hard-headed as ever and his latest stunt seemed to destroy yet another group.
Now, he's recruiting for a rerun of the same game that I was in, and his only bite so far is a newcomer to the board, his only two posts in the recruitment message thread. Should I warn this guy that he's in danger of meeting the GM from Hell? I don't know if he's truly new to the system or not, but if he is, I'm afraid that it'll spoil his enjoyment of the entire ruleset.
What should I do, DU?
Man, this sounds very, very nerdy...
