Mom says I'm too skinny
Which is what we were telling her a few years back when she got down to 100 pounds. I'm a 5'10" 185 pound male.

According to the chart at the link, I am still at least 6 pounds overweight and when she was 100 pounds she, at 5'2", was at least 8 pounds underweight.

http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/height_weight.shtml

The thing that was scaring us is that she has been hospitalized before due to anorexia, and when she got down to 100 pounds she was saying that she needed to lose more weight. Now that she's back at a healthy weight she looks back on that and thinks we were all working against her and making her feel bad for wanting to be thin. She doesn't think that she's already thin at about 125 pounds.

My step-dad says I'm too thin, too, but his idea of being in shape at 6'2" is 225 pounds; at least 23 pounds overweight according to the chart.

2. The question is, do you feel good?
Do you feel ruled by what you eat (or don't eat)? It sounds to me like you had an incredibly healthy method for taking off your weight and keeping it off long term. And it sounds a bit like your mom has weight issues ... try to just sidestep that minefield if you can.

4. your build has a lot to do with it...

if you have a large frame, you might be close to your ideal weight -- or if you're built like a beanpole, you might be a skosh over your ideal weight. Muscle mass weighs more than fat, too, so that is a factor, too.

Charts are, at best, based on averages, and probably calculated years ago. As others have said, if you feel good, and feel you look good, then you're probably at a good weight for you.

6. When I was young, I weighed under 120 at 5'2" and thought I was overweight.
Now I wish i'd known how good I looked back then!
