First Egg!




I have been crazy busy the last month but I just saw this pic again. My first banty egg! - so damn cute. They are bite size on a plate - need 3 or 4 for a breakfast, but so fun! Getting 4 to 6 a day from 6 banty hens. Can't wait for the big barred rocks to start - looking so forward to being overloaded with eggs again. This was laid on sept 29th and right after that we stopped buying store eggs - yahoo!

2. there were a couple double yolks at the begining but they seem to be normal now
between trying to get a bunch of cows shipped (no rain this summer), daily life, and my German friends visiting for almost a month (and me getting down to Chihuahua for a few days) I haven't had much computer time. Getting dark early now so I'm sure I will be around too much now! - ha

When I was a kid, a neighbor used to give us eggs and they were mostly double yolks...I grew up thinking all eggs were that way!

there is a restaurant in Tucson that uses double yolk eggs - The Hungry Fox - hole in the wall breakfast joint. We used to eat there a lot when we lived in town.
