More on the birds....
So today I brought tuky home for the last time. We allowed the parrots to see the body. I have never, ever seen the behaviors he saw next. They did not want to get too close. They stood at distance, and cookie started cooing... that is the best way to describe the low squaks, some of them in the inaudible range. He just stood there, and did that for a good twenty minutes.

Connie stood on Cookie's open door and just remained silent or low squaks too. They were never this quiet unless it involved food.

If I were religious I'd say the boy was praying.

When we took the box to bury him, they both protested, a loud squak, almost like a scream.

It was heart breaking, but I think the two parrots finally got it... he is no more among the living.

I decided to share, because this was a very strange behavior... almost like crying.

Old boy, RIP... he was laid to rest under a Blood Orange tree...

1. Oh wow. I'm glad you shared
and I'm glad you did that for them. They probably needed it. We don't know everything in life. We can't assume
what other creatures feel.

4. Right now cookie is on my hubby's lap
that is where Tuky spent many a long night. I guess Cooks will now bond with him, and that is fine with me.

2. Def. emotional to them. Alex the Parrot's last words were, "I love you. Be good."

3. Saying goodbye?
Again, whoever said dumb birds never watched them closely, let alone shared a home with them.

CAVU tuky. Say hi to Wolfgang, Gertie, Max, Louie and the rest of the gang for us.

7. Thanks but as hard as it has been on us
it is much harder for the two other birds...

And we're seeing really strange behaviors... to project my feelings, grieving behaviors.
