1. Morning kick - did anyone see this movie
Was it that scary or just a really well done trailer?

2. I'm going to see it on Halloween night
Edited on Mon Oct-26-09 08:47 AM by charlie and algernon
just seems like the perfect time to see it. What's even better is that everyone else will be off watching the torture fest that is Saw VI, so Paranormal Activity shouldn't be sold out like it was last weekend.

3. Did you see the weekend box returns - they were at Paranormal Activities

PA did $22mil in a third less theaters as Saw VI. PA did $11k per theater vs. $4k for Saw VI.

Trust me, if you want an empty theater go see Saw VI

4. Oh, I didn't even know Saw was out yet
I thought it opened on Halloween. Guess I still need to get to the ticket booth early to make sure I have PA tickets for Halloween.

5. I'm guessing you should buy now because that movie looks freaky
And I couldn't go into the woods for about a year after Blair Witch. I really don't need to be avoiding my bedroom because of this movie.

7. I can't wait to see it
The trailer is scary as hell, I got chills watching the sheets slowly lift up towards them while they're sleeping.

8. That's what freaked me out the most
I mean geez, who knows what happens when you're sleeping.

My one cat was walking into the room and I started to scream. I could hear his paws padding along the wooden floor and well I was freaked.

9. I think it's incredibly over rated.
And I love this type of film. Low budget, focusing on the slow burn rather than overt, boogie man type scares. I liked Blair Witch and thought it was decently scary, but while Paranormal Activity might have made me jump once or twice, it had not a single good scare the whole movie. You could definitely see that it had almost no budget, and I didn't have a problem with that per se, but I wish the director was more creative in creating his scares. I found the ending unsatisfying and really the only entertaining part of the movie for me was listening to the audience react to a door creaking open or something similar. I was very disappointed as I was hoping to find another good movie to watch around this time of year.

Recently I have seen "Trick 'r Treat" (direct to video after years of trying to get to the big screen) and "Zombie Land" and while neither of them were terribly scary, they were both a lot of fun and great films to watch around Halloween.
