Poll question: Which three-named dead famous woman from Florida should sit in judgment of Symarip's Floridian bid?
Edited on Wed Oct-28-09 09:23 AM by Tommy_Carcetti
Oh, and they are both named Marjorie/Marjory. I don't know if that's important, but take it for what it's worth.

Just for reference:

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjorie_Kinnan_Rawlings

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. 55 years dead. Author of The Yearling. Literary mother of those depressing ass stories where the pet dies at the end (oh, sorry, spoiler alert. The pet dies at the end). Presumably skilled in cracker style cooking, whatever that involves. Was portrayed in the movie Cross Creek by Mary Steenburgen, but Steenburgen's husband Ted Danson was inexplicably left out in favor of Peter Coyote. What's up with that?

Marjory Stoneman Douglas

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjory_Stoneman_Douglas

Marjory Stoneman Douglas. 11 years dead. Had the crazy idea of living for 108 years. Advocated for preserving the Florida Everglades, a unique, ultra-diverse ecosystem unparalleled on this earth. (Yeah!) However, in doing so, she also inadvertently advocated for preserving millions of mosquitos living in the Florida Everglades, a unique, ultra-diverse ecosystem unparalleled on this earth. (Boo!)

As you can clearly see from the picture, both women liked chairs. It is unknown whether or not Rawlings, like Douglas, liked cats. However, I would say if we are going on the issue of bodily decay alone, Douglas has a certain advantage. It's a tough call, though, so I ask that the DU Lounge make the final decision.
