21. i know all about the late spring snows
i know we've gotten big snows earlier, but it's been at least seven or eight years. but, like i said in my other reply, we tend to not get hit as hard up here.

16. I lived up where fizzgig lives for about 6 years before I moved here.
It's nice to be close to Denver, and I'm only a stone's throw from Boulder, but I kinda sorta miss our old house and our friends.

17. I don't know where fizzgig lives...? Fort Collins or something?

I miss the Colorado climate, but here in NM it's not much different, except I live in a valley where we don't get much snow (relative to what I was used to in CO). But twenty minutes east of here, there's snow in the mountains, and about an hour north, in Santa Fe, there's plenty of snow.

Have you ever been around the Eldorado Canyon trails after a snowfall? That's sort of what it looks like in the Sandia mountains--very beautiful and unusual.

I used to live in Broomfield and work in Boulder. In some ways I miss it, and in others I don't.

30. There's nothing like SNOW!
The first winter I lived here, there was NO SNOW at all--and very little even in the mountains. I thought I had made a terrible mistake. The next winter, there was snow--not a lot where my house is, but certainly in the mountains. And then a year or two after that (2007?) we got a foot and a half in the valley and two or more feet in the Sandias--JOY!

Here are some pics of the Sandias from early 2008:

22. We're having a beautiful day today with sunshine and 67 degrees.
However, it has rained the last two days and we have rain predicted for the next two. So far this month we have had 9.26 inches of rain. It feels like you are walking on a sponge when you go outside.

Which explains a lot, weather-wise.

I hate it. Supposed to freeze for the next three nights too. Not overly fond of cold either.

First fire in the fireplace today. Just got the house closed up day before yesterday (while wearing shorts, no less)

We should be back to more reasonable weather by Saturday but I bet my tomatoes will be dead anyway.

48. We're having FLOODING problems for the second time this year here....
....it's been record rainfall ever recorded for the month of October and the second time this year the river has been above floodstage. Ironically the Army Corps of Engineers doesn't want to keep up our levees anymore so people have to get mandatory flood insurance now here in NE Louisiana. :nopity:
