should I get the wii fit plus with balance board
I recently lost a whole bunch of weight - 75 pounds - and I now weigh 200 pounds. However, I don't always have the means to make it to the gym and I was looking at trying to keep active at home other than just doing aerobics around the neighborhood. Does the wii fit plus have good core workout regimen? I am not looking for anything like p90x, but just something to work out the different areas of my body.

-Quetzal

your recommendations will really help me.

3. We got it last year (for Christmas) and used it a lot at first.
Not so much now. The exercise programs are very good, IMO, especially the yoga.

Congratulations on your weight loss! :hi:

It has five basic groups of activities: yoga, strength exercises, cardio, balance, and "Wii Fit Plus" which are extensions of the basic four but new for the Plus version.

The yoga poses are pretty good but there aren't that many. The strength exercises are things like crunches, lunges, etc. and I haven't worked my way through all of them yet. The balance games are fun but maddening (to me). The cardio games - some are actually quite fun, some are kind of boring.

You can do each one of these one at a time, or you can do some grouping. The thing is that you can combine the strength and yoga poses into your own personalized routine. And you can do some shuffling of the cardio and games into groups of routines, but not totally personalized like the yoga and strength. But you can't combine the two types, so you can't roll your own yoga warm-up then go into cardio and so on. Also it will only store ONE personalized workout, which I think is not enough.

Now, I am not in very good shape so I have definitely gotten some good workouts, but if you are in really good shape it might all be too easy. But I have heard really good things on Amazon about the EA Sports Active game for the Wii, so you might want to look at that as well. I think I will upgrade to that one in a couple of months! :)
