He owns Professor Farnsworth in all ways.

Nevermind the undeserved A- he received at his hands.

Aww... That's no way to talk. Tsk, tsk, tsk. "What'll it be?" That's no way to treat a customer. C'mere. Try it like this. Pay attention. You'll feel better and the customers'll be happier. Try this: "What'll it be? Hmmm?"

11. Prof. Barnhardt, a very thinly veiled Albert Einstein.
Played by Sam Jaffe who had graduated City College of NY and studied Engineering at Columbia University. Movie lore says that Jaffe provided the calculus equations on the blackboard himself, making sure that they were all accurate (except of course the ones that Klaatu corrects.)

21. Zelda Spellman
As a sidenote, try to think of fictional female professors. McGonagal (who was a high school teacher, not a professor by American terms), Zelda (from Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Elaine Miller (from Almost Famous), and Diane Turner (from Back to School), were the only reasonably prominent ones I could think of.

Yet somehow the esoteric art of the boatwright managed to elude him.

"You can check your anatomy all you want, and even though there may be normal variation, when it comes right down to it, this far inside the head it all looks the same. No, no, no, don't tug on that. You never know what it might be attached to."

and

"Hey, hey, hey, hey-now. Don't be mean; we don't have to be mean, cuz, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

though I may take some heat for being so fascinated by someone who, by the simplest explanation, is a pedophile. He's a great delusional literary character, though, and I have to confess Jeremy Irons' audio book version of Lolita makes me weak in the knees.
