.. have taken their music to strange places, while still maintaining a pop background.

They have a Greatest Hits album out these days, called Pop-something. Their major hits, that I can remember, have been: West End Girls (later covered by UK group East 17), Go West, New York City Boy.

44. Trivia from the main site
.
.
.

March 19th

on this day in:

1974, Jefferson Airplane became Jefferson Starship.

1978, Billy Joel made his UK live debut at London's Dury Lane Theatre.

1982, Randy Rhoads of The Ozzy Osborne Band, hairdresser Rachel Youngblood and pilot Andrew Aycock were all killed, near Orlando, Florida, whilst buzzing the bands tour bus in a light aircraft, when it clipped the bus and crashed.

From "jokes" - (right at the bottom centre of the screen)

What happens if you play country music backwards?

You sober up, your wife comes home, and your dog comes back to life.

63. What the hell happened to Steve Miller?
Besides the fact that "Abracadabra" was, perhaps, the shittiest song of all time, all their/his songs before that were great. What happened to Steve Miller? (I did see him in '92, though, openeing for the Grateful Dead -- I wish Icould tell you about the concert, but I don't remember that year).

Oh, and Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" wa the theme song from Rocky 3, not Rocky 2.

I had to go for my "life" song, the one that was Number 1 on my 18th birthday. In the US, it was "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", by Diana Ross. In the UK, it was Freda Payne's "Band of Gold". Both good ones. (The date was 9-19-70.)
