That must be it.

My daughter txt-ed me this afternoon, saying that she ran across a group at her university handed out free copies of _On the Origin of Species_, and she didn't know why. I'm betting it was this edition.

2. That was probably it.
They went around to the country's top 50 universities (according to US News & World or something) and handed them out. They did this one day before they were scheduled to do so, in order to thwart the counter-protests. I have to hand it to them, that was kind of a smart move, even if they are totally delusional.
