What kind of Doctor should sir_captain become?
Edited on Sun Mar-21-04 12:30 AM by WillyBrandt
I vote Plastic Surgeon. Beyond the promise of seeing different kinds of breasts (by different, I mean before and after), it's well paying and puts you in contact with the rich and famous.

4. Dermatology
I'd presume there are few emergencies, night calls, and lawsuits. I could be wrong, but I knew a Dermatologist once who was free enough in the evenings that he could act in community theater. Not many physicians could have that in their schedules.

8. I vote...
... a surgeon specializing in giving people with a defect inner ear their full hearing back (and yes, that's me - twice through surgery & twice without a result).

9. Emergency Medicine (ER Doctor)
That's where I'd go. Set hours. No on-call. Good experience. Experienced staff around working closely with you. The best and most calm doctors I know and work with work in ER. Work 12-24 hours at a time but you get it over with and done. It's a good fundamental area to get experiences, too.

13. I concur
You could even volunteer for the gov't program that puts newly minted docs in underserved comunities. I forget the name of it. But there are so many rural counties in the US who don't have a doc of any sort.

17. Endocrinology
People get fatter and more diabetes every day. It is a chronic disease, so the better you make them the longer you have them as patients.
