The Latin Words "Id Tenendum Verum" Appear On The Stage Riser
for Bill Maher's new HBO talk show. (I'm assuming it's Latin... perhaps it's pseudo-latin that's there for looks only?)

Does anyone know what they mean?

1. Probably intended as "He holds (possesses) the truth
but by the curiously perverse nature of the definitions, Teneo the root word for tenendum would also be defined in the military/tactical sense as restraining or holding back the truth.

2. I think so, too.
In legal language, "habendum and tenendum" is frequently used and means "to have and to hold."
