Who loves the Allman Brothers?
Listening to 'Stormy Monday.' Awesome jam.

Nothing like Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes and a 6-pack of beer to snap me out of a funk.

Which Allmans song should I que up next?

:hippie:

3. Love 'em
They lived here in Tuscaloosa, had a band called the Allman Joys prior to ABB. (ABB, hmmm.) :)

Cue up "Melissa." I suspect it was inspired by a cousin of mine. No joking.

6. so how's it going?
They did some beautiful work. When you look at Gregg Allman, beauty doesn't immediately come to mind. But some of their songs are downright beautiful.

11. Somewhat better
Talk about beauty not coming to mind? I saw them last year at Bonnaroo. Warren had expanded to the size of a sherman tank and Gregg wasn't much better, but they still rock.

12. Love the Allman Brothers
Whenever I'm depressed, I can put on any Allman Brothers Cd in my collection and feel instantly better. How can you not love the genius that is/was Jessica, Midnight Rider, Blue Sky, Crazy Love. . .

Or perhaps "Whipping Post." There are so many. I absolutely loved that band when I was in high school. College too. I still like them, but not to the extent that I once did.

I remember one time in college, some of us were hanging out at someone's friend's house. We were watching "Jailhouse Rock" on TV witht the sound turned all the way down and listening to "Whipping Post" on the stereo. I think there might have been a scene of the jailer whipping Elvis; either that or we were just really stoned and grooving on the song.
