3. Joe's Garage is so underrated by his fans.
Watermelon in Easter Hay is one of the most poignant, longing instrumentals ever performed. It is absolute joy and terror to hear it at the end of Joe's musical life.

9. Hahahahaha!
Wow - that was almost 6 years ago, LOL.

I meant that as a compliment, I hope you know. :-)

But yes, everyone in that thread who said you were prettier than her was (and is) absolutely right!

I should add, even this many years later, that you two are also intelligent and creative people, and the world could use more like you. :-)

6. The finest musician of his generation.
The finest musician of today's generation? Britney Spears.

To quote the lyrics from Valley Girl:
"Tosses her head and flips her hair, she's got a whole bunch of nothing in there."

It is to weep.

11. I really missed him during the W. Bush years
Oh, the material they would have provided. He surely would have written his angriest/funniest compositions.

14. Broadway The Hard Way is a favorite of mine. He absolutely shreds the Christian right.
I listen to that album and really wonder what he would think of what's happening right now.

I lived ONE mile down the road from his CBN complex and his mansion. So I knew intimately what Frank was talking about on that album. It came out the year after I left VA for Seattle. It is one of his best.

"With a big ol' lie and a flag and a pie and a mom and a bible..."

32. This is my favorite quote from that album:
"Republicans is fine,
If you're a multi-millionaire
Democrats is fair,
If all you own is what you wear
Neither of 'em's REALLY right,
'Cause neither of 'em CARE
'Bout that Hot-Plate Heaven,
'Cause they ain't been there "

Truly ahead of his time.

Also introduced me to Mike Keneally, for which I'm eternally grateful.

28. Most don't know.
The family is badly served, as is Frank's memory, by keeping his best concert material off YouTube. I was fortunate enough to see Frank perform three times in the mid to late 1970s. Extraordinary!
