2. blame somebody else for your failure to prevent it
thats the Bush 9-11 America for you. Pathetic array of choices there.
Security doesnt happen after the fact. Are you sure you didnt mean to ask what if your wife and kids were murdered and raped?

4. Yes as anti-violence as i am
I have to say since they would be breaking in, i wouldnt have time to decide if they are "violent" burglars or "peaceful" burglars. I have two small girls and a wife and i wouldnt take any chances. With that being said let me say, that when that colonel surrounded the Hussein sons and got into a fire fight instead of waiting for surrender i felt that No american soldiers life was worth that fight. Simply turn off the power and wait for them. When the fight is taken to you then sure fight back (i.e. burglars) what we are doing in IRAQ is putting our guys in danger. And having been one of those "guys" myself i speak with some sort of authority on the matter.

5. Unload all 15 rounds in my 9mm clip into his face.
Edited on Sun Mar-21-04 10:42 AM by bearfan454
If that didn't work I would use Mrs bearfans 357 magnum. The 12 gauge and the deer rifle would fuck him up too. But all in all, I would have no problem killing the person, especially if my granddaughter was here.

6. Where's the compassion?
These burglars are people too, shouldn't they be treated with compassion and understanding? :puke:
Seriously, identify the target, shoot twice into their center mass, repeat as needed. If anyone outside of my family is inside the home, they're here for no good purpose.

7. No compassion for burglars here.
I've lived in some really high crime areas in Chicago back in the day. No compassion here.

9. Exactly...they won't be showing any compassion to you....
or your family.

I don't understand people that cannot comprehend that...

11. Sarcasm
Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I can't believe that there are people who honestly think in those terms when addressing violent crime. If the assailant has taken a decision to break into your home, they're not above attacking, raping, or killing anyone in the house. They fully deserve to be killed and removed as a threat to the public.

12. Since there is no one at home during the day at our house
when most home burglaries take place, there is no point to us having a gun.

We do have an alarm with a private security firm and a mean looking dog.

If the dog doesn't discourage the intruder, the security company will get there REALLYFAST (I should know having accidentally set off the alarm a few times).

It is a very heroic fantasy to think about defending you home and your family with a firearm just like in the "old west", however a rational risk analysis sometimes leads to other conclusions.

16. Just Pump the Pump action Shotgun - that will probably scare
them away. If Not, then I keep them away from my family. If they come upstairs, I'll have a good shot at their filthy faces and I will have my family behind me so I don't shoot anyone worthwhile by mistake.
