RIP: John Lennon...... October 9, 1940- December 8, 1980

Was it really 28 years ago? I remember watching the Monday Night Football game, Oilers vs Miami. And Howard Cosell of all people telling the news. I broke down.

Still fits today I think, maybe even more now that way back them....

I'm sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites

By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians

6. The anniversary of his death is always so poignant for me.

When I heard the news of Lennon's assassination the first person I called was my brother. He loved him. A year later I was sitting at my brother's deathbed. The two dates are so firmly tied together. Lennon's music still provides the soundtrack to Jimmy's passing.
