I am SO SORRY for posting that drunken rant last night.
I'd get rid of it if I could. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Jeebus. Forgive me?

1. Apologize? You should publish it.
Seriously, that's wonderful.

Hope you feel better this AM, though.

 :D

3. Laughing.
No, I don't think so! but thanks. Yes, I feel great today, having purged myself in Freudian fashion last night. Ugh.

4. There's nothing to forgive, my dear crim son!
I thought it was most excellent, and your last line was quite poetic!

I think you should do that sort of thing more often, honestly...

7. Nope. This line, the one below, IS poetry!
Where is the male spirit of good heart and wise learning and hard body who can bear to love the lines around my eyes?

I am a poet, and I know poetry when I see it!

And it's a beautiful line, sweetie...

12. The trouble with hangovers
is that you even feel bad about the really good stuff. And that was really good.

Laugh or cry? You can do both!

Don't be too embarrassed --laugh it off.

18. "I want to scream. You plug your ears."
That spoke to me, crim son. I read your post after being unequivocally dumped in a painful afternoon of emails after only the day before being told in person with much caressing and not a little semen-drenching how much I was loved and needed. I didn't get drunk, but I screamed a howling cry or three (you can do that when you live in rural splendour, and not bring the neighbours or cops to your door) I creased deeper the lines around my own eyes and howled and some of my howl was echoed in your post.

The quest for love and sex, love and sex with one person, dammit. It burns.

19. Don't apologize, I thought it was very good (even though my response in the thread
was drunken locker-room humor).

It definitely raised the bar for future ranters around here...

20. That's some of the best poetry I've seen on DU, whether it was meant to be or not
I understand about apologizing for a drunken rant, but really, it was brilliantly written, and even California Peggy who has become a really fucking good poet thinks so. It doesn't even matter that I read it as a 50+ man who doesn't fall into that stereotype about always lusting after the younger women while ignoring the older experienced ones; the feelings were raw and true to yourself. I hope you continue to write, drunk or not; you have some serious talent even if you don't think so. BTW, I put in the part about myself not looking for the younger women in hopes of reminding you that there are plenty of men my age who want someone with "lines around their eyes" ,wisdom and life experiences in common etc. After being dumped ( by someone about my age ) about a year ago, I'm about ready to get back into the dating world ( god/goddess/flying spaghetti monster help me) including through internet singles sites, and am only looking for women in their 40's and 50's. There's a lot of us out there like this, crim son, and I wish you the best in finding a good man who deserves you.

21. I thought it was just fine - you probably spoke
for more than a couple of us that have experienced relationship "issues" this year. You said a few things much more eloquently than I could earlier this year when all I wanted to scream was, "fuck you, only douchebags hide behind an email breakup!" Now that I've said it, I feel better, but I wish I'd been more stingingly witty or wistfully verbose....but that's not me right now.

I hate the feelings that I dredge up this time each year....and likely you're feeling the same. However, we get to look forward to 2010 - a whole new decade. Take care and thanks for your 'rant'....I enjoyed it.
