3. I'm giving my 16 year old kitty
Eye drops 3x a day, in both eyes.
Medication for high blood pressure, once a day. I was suppose to give her 1/4 a pill every day. I looked at the teeny tiny triangle shaped pill and asked how the heck was I suppose to cut that into fourths. They said, with a pill cutter. I then asked if they would demonstrate doing so without it crumbling into bits. They tried, bless their hearts and finally gave it to us in liquid form.
1 subcutaneous shot for anemia every 48 hours.
fluids (2 ml) given subcutaneously every 48 hours.

5. Me, too.
My cat has asthma. He gets an antihistamine twice a day, half a tablet each time. The pills are bitter, so Pill Pockets only work for a few days before he finds the pills. I can sometimes hide them in his evening Fancy Feast treat. Fortunately, he's easy to pill. Usually, I just open his mouth, pop it in as far as I can, close his mouth, and rub his throat until he swallows. He's usually a good boy about it. I don't even have to use this on him:

9. Mine is even easier to pill
If I pop at the back of his tongue, he just swallows it.

If I don't get it back far enough or if I get it off to the side, he spits it out, but that's all.

His eyes tear up afterwords and he stops purring, but that's about it.

Surprisingly easy and I was dreading it. He's at day 6 of the pills, the halfway mark!

14. That's pretty much what I do.
I have to clamp his mouth shut and rub his throat to ensure that he swallowed, because he'll try to spit it out if I don't get it back far enough. The pills are small enough that they'll go down easily, without all the tearing up. I have a pill gun that I bought for a cat who has since died. I never had to use it on the old man. I suspect that it will be necessary if I ever wind up needing to pill my female. She HATES anyone going near her mouth.

11. Try using tuna to get him to take his pill
Just a big chunk of tuna helps the medicine go down
the medicine go down...medicine go down
Just a big chunk of tuna helps the medicine go down
with some catnip afterwards.

13. Actually, I've found that these pill popping gismos work pretty well.
Of course, you still have to hold the cat still while opening his mouth with one hand and wield the popper with the other.
Not easy. Maybe they should make a smaller weaker version of tranquilizer darts (to inject the meds) for household pets. Then all you'd need was a clean shot at the critter.

15. Wedging your cat between your body and the arm of your sofa helps
Just make sure their butt is to the back of the sofa. They're more or less pinned in that way. Or, just wrap 'em in a towel. That will hold them relatively still.

10. I kind of just winged it

In fact the first time he took the pill on the first try, a feat I haven't been able to repeat (usually I get it on the 2nd or 3rd try).

I don't think my cat knows how to be mean (his sister got that gene --she was half his size and beat him up regularly, which is partly why I have him). So I haven't had to worry about him biting me or going crazy.
