He's on his way home!
I got the call about an hour ago. My husband has now left Kuwait (after 10 months in Iraq and the last two weeks in Kuwait) and is currently flying back to the US!

He'll get here tomorrow but I won't get out to Colorado until Wednesday to see him. (And thanks to Northwest Airlines, I will be pissed off the entire flight... for anyone who might have read my post a few days ago. But I'd rather not think about that right now.)

Yippee!

12. good question
he's been in 9 years, has 2 years left on his contract. But he says if Dubya is elected *again*, then he wants to get the hell out ASAP.

20. I bet they all cheered when they cleared Iraqi airspace.
A buddy of mine said that when they left Vietnam, the pilot radioed back to the cabins that they had just cleared Vietnamese airspace. He said that they almost caused the plane to dip, they were so raucous. And the second time, when they saw the California coast.

Easy to imagine why... Congrats.

21. hopefully there won't be any plane trouble
others from his unit left last week, had plane trouble, and spent several days in Germany. On his way TO Iraq last spring, they had plane trouble, too.

WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO!

I am so happy for you and your DH. I'll bet Wednesday can't get here soon enough!

In the meantime, am I the only lamer that can't watch the reunited families on the news without becoming a teary mess?

Have a terrific time, and give him a few thousand kisses for evilDU'ers everywhere!

Julie

in about 13 hours! I'm disappointed that I won't be there to greet him. Instead, he'll be meeting ME at the airport. Oh well!

26. I'll be finding out what I can
without pushing him too much. But I know he is quite willing to talk about a bunch of stuff. He always tried to hint at things but couldn't go into any details because the emails and phone conversations are supposed to be watched by the military.
