2. That one is my favorite one anymore.

The original has made so many cast changes and changes in the direction of the show that it isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be.

Criminal Intent was great in the beginning, but the stories started to dry up.

SVU has stayed good though. I just wish they would do more episodes where Munch and Tutuola are the main detectives.

3. SVU right now.
The original when Jerry Orbach was on. (RIP Mr. Orbach)

CI started out great but it's faded since the move to USA.

SVU is emotional and has great story lines. I love Richard Beltzer and I've always had a bit of a crush on Mariska Hargitay.

4. I voted for SVU, just because it stars Chris Meloni.
What a hunk.

7. As much as I love Goren and Eames
I prefer SVU these days.

Actually, Criminal Minds has just about pushed all the L&O's to the side for me.

Can't stand NCIS: No 'Count Ignorant Shit.

14. Yeah... Thomas Gibson
The character he plays is so uptight and humorless it's almost comical.

16. I like Criminal Minds and NCIS.
NCIS I like for the cast, Criminal Minds I like for the quotes.

SVU bores me to death these days, too much drama among the detectives. Criminal intent is a little better now. Loved Rita Moreno as Goren's mother, but glad all his crisis's are over.

I have gone back to the original L&O now. I like the two new detectives and the DAs. More diversity. I still watch Criminal intent but not SVU.

As one can see, I spend way too much time watching tv. It gives me a reason to get up in the morning. :woohoo:

17. Do you remember Thomas Gibson from "Tales of the City"?
He played Beauchamp Day, the beautiful, uptight guy once again--who was married to the preppie girl Dee Dee, and was majorly in the closet.

8. SVU by a mile
Edited on Mon Jan-04-10 06:27 PM by WildEyedLiberal
CI was quite good in its heyday, but, even though I like both Chris Noth and Jeff Goldblum, the show really shines when it focuses on Goren and Eames. The stories seem to have lost a lot of their luster lately.

Original L&O has gone through too many cast changes - it was definitely best in the Jerry Orbach days, and there's nothing really wrong with the new detectives, but there's too much of a revolving door to keep me interested.

SVU isn't as good as it used to be, but it's still consistently entertaining, and it still has the same core cast that has drawn me in for years. Elliot and Olivia are the best detective duo on TV, and the rest of the cast is great too.

9. The "old" Law and Order with Lenny Briscoe.
I stopped watching when Jerry Orbach died.

I loved SVU when it first came on, but eventually lost interest in it.

18. Hmm...
'Law And Order: Standard' is still kind of okay, but they fuck with the formula a little too much while trying to force character development. (Quit swingin' that bat! You look like an idiot!)

'Law And Order: Estupid' is exactly that.

That leaves 'Law And Order: CI'm Smarter Than You'. They stick to their formula and the cops are more entertaining even than Briscoe before the credits.

Especially when they tackle current events.

20. The original, by a long chalk
I love the current cast, and they've been putting the boot into the right most satisfyingly the past couple of years while still telling stories with a fair amount of thoughtful ambiguity.

Criminal Intent has always been more of a light whodunit show and it isn't in the same league, but it has a wry sense of human foible that is completely alien to the leaden/campy SVU, which is hysterical in more senses than one.

22. The original
which had equal helpings of investigation and courtroom drama. The spin-offs are too much like traditional cop shows to carry the L&O name.
