MissHoneychurch found these links for me
I guess the accident was in the papers. I had no idea. I can't believe the damage. I only saw the car once after the accident. I was being held by a woman who wouldn't let me look. I should feel lucky to have walked away from being hit by a mack truck but I don't.

still, i am sure your friends and family appreciate the fact that you are alive. for them, it would be worse, if both of you were gone

3. If I could trade places with Markus
I would in a heartbeat. He was a much better person than I could ever hope to be and he deserved to live.

6. He would have said the same, if the situation were reversed.
There isn't any fair or sense to some things. It is clear only that two good people have loved each other and now one is gone from this place. I am so sorry for your loss NPIG. I send a virtual hug and my best wishes for your healing from this terrible separation. -Judy

4. Yes, I found the first one after I've heard what happened,
but would never have posted it for way too many reasons.

Take all the time you need. Sometimes, we survive loved ones, and it never seems fair. But then, we still possess the memories, and perhaps one day I hope, you'll find yourself in a situation where you just think 'Hey, he would have liked this' and smile. Even a smilie hug doesn't express it all.

I am in shock just seeing the pictures for the first time tonight. But then what did I expect? Markus is dead from the impact.

I've already had moments of hey, he would have liked this...when I see candy or chocolates or food...we found Markus' advents calender at his work yesterday and that little hog had skipped over a bunch of days and went straight for the 24th. We all laughed and cried.

He had a very strong love for food. Almost more than he loved me :)

7. He went straight for the 24th?
That made me just laugh. Keep these memories in your life.

Looking at his face, I know he'd be one I'd be friends with, geeky and all. He seemed like a very humble and gentle being, and I have some Champagne glasses as well (with Champagne that goes with them,) and chocolate's good here.

I didn't see it before. How peaceful and comforting.

I know you and Markus would have been fast friends. You both had so much in common, though I don't know if you as big a glutton as he was :)

He was the most humble and gentle man I've ever known. The most devoted husband a woman could ever ask for, like you are to Heidi.

Cherish your time together on this planet.

17. You will probably be in a state of shock for some time and unable
to feel much but the terrible tragedy of losing your husband way too soon.

You need time to grieve, be angry at the Fates, and mourn the chaos that is life.

Cyberhugs are surely inadequate, but I'm sure you know how many DU friends are
wishing you peace as you find a way to live without the love of your life.

23. Oh no. I really wish you didn't have to see that.
I know it might be inappropriate to say this, and probably the last thing on your mind, but if the truck driver was at fault I hope you take them to court and prosecute them to the fullest extent of German law.

24. It wasn't the truck driver's fault
there were multiple factors, high speed, bad weather, water pooled on the left hand lane we entered. We were hit from behind and spun off to the right hand lanes. There were only 6 meters between where we came to a rest and the semi-truck who hit us. He didn't have time to stop.
