Anyone have comcast home phone service?
Any issues with them . I have vonage and like it--no problems. But comcast is my internet provider--it's expensive, and they are offering a lower cost for internet if you sign up for their phone service. I don't call outside the US except to Alberta occassionally. ( I'm happy with Directv as a soccer junkie because I get FSC and GOLtv and am loathe to switch to comcast tv just to lower my internet access bill.)

1. Don't do it!
My wife's business used to have it. They'd lose service all the time, and wouldn't discover it sometimes for half a day. Expensive and shitty service. And once they have your business, they don't give a crap about you.

3. I have their triple threat/play, or whatever they call it
Cable, internet and phone, and honestly have had no problems with it at all. Comcast has a bad rep, well deserved in some respects, but the service here has been flawless.

4. I'm very happy with Comcast.
We have them for phone, cable and internet. I didn't like their internet service at first, but it has improved. It might have been my computer, which had several virus issues.

5. I'm sorry to have to speak well of Comcast...
But I've found their service to be generally quite excellent. We have the cable/phone/internet triple-play deal, and although we occasionally have signal issues with our digital receivers, our phone and internet service have never given us any trouble at all.

Additionally, their customer service team is very good.

It galls me to have to endorse an evil mega-corporation that's trying to become even evil-er and mega-er, but I can't complain about the service they've provided us.

6. I'm in the same boat
I loathe Comcast and their pathetic attempts to stack the deck against net neutrality, but I can't complain about the service that I've received. I have their triple-play deal as well, have screaming fast internet service, have reliable phone service that works even during a power outage (thanks to the battery backup in their cable/phone box, have two TiVos with cable cards that they didn't balk at providing and set up correctly the first time with only one truck roll for each install (this is where I fault them, when I was with Service Electric in PA, they did self-setup for cable cards, just call in, provide the information and it was done. We have not had a single phone, internet or phone outage in the year that I've had service through Comcast.

7. We have the Comcast triple play thing - internet, cable, phone
My biggest complaint is that it all costs too much and I have to buy the premium cable to see the 4 channels that I watch (along with the other 150 channels of absolute garbage). But since no cable company will ever do ala carte cable unless they are forced to do so under pain of death, I guess that's not really a valid complaint about Comcast in particular.

Other than that, I've been pleasantly suprised by the service. We rarely have outages. And the few times we've had to call and complain about something, we've gotten really excellent customer service.

8. Depends on where you live
If you live somewhere that Comcast bought out that had decent lines it's pretty good.
If you live somewhere with outdated lines, Comcast doesn't want to spend the money on upgrading, their service can be pitiful.
A friend of mine that lives on the west side of Houston has godawful service from them. On a good day his internet speed may be 400K bits.
Another friend that lives in a different part of Houston has excellent speed.
And it has nothing to do with the hurricanes, since the connections have been like that for 10 years.
