But Clinton didn't phase him, either. I mean, is there was any greater proof that Rush and his disciples are wrong than Clinton's success and Bush's failure? Why else would he need Oxicontin? It's to cover up the voices screaming in his head, "You are wrong, idiot!" in his own voice.

spending his last few decades alone and forgotten, unable to ever be the center of attention again, unable to stroke his ego, or get any public voice (or even mention) at all, except as footnotes in historical journals about media and "what went wrong before the big social shift".

For Rush, I really think the worst nightmare would be being ignored.
