Anyone else have a cat that follows them around but won't let anyone
pet him?

I'm about to go out of my mind. Plato is Mr Aloof, except when he wants attention, which involves stabbing me in the leg when I'm sitting on the couch, and sitting on my mouse hand WHILE IT'S ON THE MOUSE. I can barely type this.

Cats. Aaaargh.

1. Yeah, I know, they are wonderful. I have to get mine back on my
lap here. I pushed him off ten times as I was doing something, so now he gave up.

2. Plato has huge hands and takes up a lot of space
He just snagged my mouse and keeled over on his side next to the keyboard - at 18 pounds, that's a lotta cat. He wants to hold hands, but he tries to bite me if I scratch him. And he purrs the whole time.

4. My kitty used the keyboard while I wasn't around...
I was always afraid that she'd send an e-mail, or, even worse, post on DU... :D

14. Well, I wasn't logged in to Free Republic, LOL.
Though anything that she wrote (and she did write indecipherable messages) would make more sense than what I've seen posted there... ;)

5. Sorry about that. My Frankie is a big, chubby ball of love and will let absolutely
anyone pet him. In fact, he pretty much demands that everyone pet him constantly, even resorting to physically grabbing your hand with this paws and placing it on top of his head.

7. I have 4 other cats who are pretty scratchie-intensive
 It's just this one who's psycho about being picked up or petted. Plato's brother Socrates will snag me if I stop scratching him too soon. :D

8. I have one of those. He demands constant petting.
I probably should hire someone to pet him while I'm at work.

9. Since I started working from home a year ago, he's been in heaven. He loves to
sit inside my sweatshirt on cold days with just his head popping out of the neckhole. This is while I'm also wearing it of course.

6. My cat used to be like that
he was 2 when I got him and apparently he had been trained not to get on people. He would purr and lick me when I pet him and then turn around and bite me.

It took me three years and many "love bites" but I finally turned him into a lap cat.

13. I finally had to banish mine from my office
I ended up spending more time replacing things and cleaning up than working.
