Do you expect your friends to disassociate with people you don't like?
This has been a problem for me at different times in my life.

I really don't see why I should have to choose one friend over the other.

On the other hand, if someone has really done something terrible to me, I have asked others to choose.

What are your thoughts on this?

1. No expectation, but...
I take their opinions into account. If someone is good friends with a person who has treated me badly, I may decide to drop them as well. I don't make people choose.

Believe me, it's happened the other way around much, much more frequently
in my life.
