Now, I have to get up to change the channel.

2. My son told me his remote died the other day

I asked him how he's been changing the channel. He gave me this "duh" look and said he's been getting up to change it.

It hadn't even occurred to me. :rofl:

And checked the batteries out in another device. It's not the batteries.

Nor is it the cable box. I used my roommate's remote on it, and it worked.

Sucks getting up and turning the channel.

6. Couch Potato! Get one of those generic remotes. They are like

$10. Just be sure that it can be compatible with your box. The brand names (Sony remote for Sony tv) are very expensive.
