My first thought was Substitute, but then Magic Bus quickly came to mind.

3. Boris The Spider
and the reason why they can't play that one, is the reason why they should pull the plug.

4. Eminence Front
A bit more subtle than Won't Get Fooled Again, but quite fitting in these times.

5. I Can't Explain
But I can't complain about the ones they DID include. Great way to close out the decade.

Great halftime shows of the past 10 years:
U2 (probably the best one ever given the situation, coming just a few months after 9/11)
Prince
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
The Who
Tom Petty
The Rolling Stones
Paul McCartney

There was some crap (who can forget the horrible "Walk This Way" as sung by Britney Spears?), but most of the past decade has seen a shift towards quality music from some of the best artists in rock and roll history. Yes, some of them are showing their age (a la Daltrey's voice), but the songs are still great and the music undoubtedly appeals to a much wider audience than that from newer artists. And it's certainly not "Up With People" (1976, '80, '82, '86) or Doroty Hammil and Brian Boitano (1992)

6. Didn't care for Prince, but most of those were solid in my opinion.

All in all, I wasn't blown away by The Who, but they were okay. McCartney, Springsteen and Petty were all awesome. The Stones and U2 were solid as expected.

7. That's the song they used to open their concerts years ago.
I wish they had just done a few songs, rather than a medley. I thought Roger sound pretty good, BTW. Especially considering he's in his mid-60s and has been at it for over 40 years.

16. My Generation
Then again, I'm sure that whole "hope I die before I get old" probably would have been a real buzzkill.

I also wanted them to smash their instruments. Of course, that was NOT going to happen, was it?

:woohoo:
