Kids: the gift that keeps on taking
Edited on Tue Feb-09-10 09:56 AM by MissMillie
Don't get me wrong, I do believe that my son truly is a gift, and I'm glad I have him.

And he's been working very hard to dig himself out of the holes he got himself into.

This last one, his accident, pretty much means I don't get my wedding trip.

Still getting married... probably even soon than expected.

And yeah, my son is going to end up paying me back in the long-run.

I guess I just believe that adult kids, who truly work hard, deserve your help when they need it.

I know I deserve stuff too. The good news is that I do have what I need, and I'm getting the guy I want. I'm not getting "weddinged" but "married"--so the actual wedding isn't what's important, but rather the marriage.

My folks helped me. Someday my son will help his kids. Circle of life stuff, I guess.

1. I love your attitude, and I'll kick this for it...
"I'm not getting "weddinged" but "married"--so the actual wedding isn't what's important, but rather the marriage."

We make sacrifices where we can for the good of others when they need our help.

Maybe he can help you rebuild your savings so you can get that trip you and the Mr deserve.

Best wishes on your new marriage!

3. there will be a trip later in the fall
It's not the trip we originally wanted, but at least it's a few days away.

2. My dear MissMillie...
I'm really sorry to hear you won't get your wedding trip, at least not now.

But you are doing the best thing: you're seeing the situation for what it truly is: life.

Hang in there and enjoy the ride!
