What the fuck good is THAT going to do? It didn't take him long to give up. Yes, he's a wingnut.

4. i don't know--if you have a honking big snow blower
sometimes making a quick trip out to do the sidewalks during a blizzard makes sense.

Made latter trips easier.

especially if the plows seal off your driveway.

There's something heroic about flinging yourself against impossible odds and losing.

7. Snow blowers can be like cars - an extension of the penis
His efforts were completely erased within two hours. I'm not sure there were any actual results in the first place since he was just blowing snow into wind that was blowing it right back, but you couldn't tell if he actually made any progress at the time.

10. I'm not sure exactly how this works.
Is it the bigger the blower the smaller the penis or the other way around? My blower is over 48" wide, but I only get it out when the truck can no longer make it down the driveway.

8. same here. we just moved and don't know the guy well
but he helped us dig out of the driveway yesterday, and came back with his snowblower today. Don't know his political affiliation, but he's a nice guy. Silly, mind you, but nice enough. I think I'll choose not to talk politics with him.

11. that's why i always give nature time to do her thing.
i figure 3 or 4 weeks is about long enough to make sure there is not going to be any further drifting mucking up my efforts. unfortunately here in colorado the snow usually melts after a week or two at most, so all of my neighbors think i'm some lazy, inconsiderate jackass who refuses to shovel his sidewalk.

13. Well sometimes can't wait
If it's a mega dump, it can get too deep for a blower to handle, so first shift before it gets to that point.

If the day temps are going to be near 32F, the snow can become too wet and heavy, so get out early while it's still relatively light and fluffy.

On the other, you all are probably right. He's an asshole. "Beware! I am man and I have a machine!!"

14. Must be a relative of my leaf-blower neighbor.
The dude who was trying desperately to blow his leaves into a pile...while it was raining...and the wind was howling at about 30 mph. He did eventually give up...after about 30 minutes.

15. Yeah, I've got a leaf blower idiot in my neighborhood too - also a wingnut.
He spent about two hours with the damn thing this past fall doing a job that should have taken half an hour with a rake.

17. Actually, my leaf-blower guy is also a wingnut (hmmm...).
This past fall, he spent several hours blowing his leaves down the hill in his back yard, only to have them all blown back up the hill by Mama Nature. By the next morning, it looked exactly like it did before he started.

I'm also a "raker," one of the few left, apparently.

18. I rake too (if needed), but (GASP) that involves EXERCISE!!!!
Isn't exercise one of those commie pinko faggot liberal socialist nazi democrat things?

(Note: use of "faggot" in the above is not a slur against gays - just quoting wingnuts)

I used to work in an office complex in Virginia with woods out back. They sent crews out with monstrous vacuums to suck up the leaves. What the fuck is up with that?
