1. I had to go with the Drano option, AV
I never listen to Bob Dylan records so I don't get the song references.

3. Ah, Tobin...it's possible that with your intelligence and deep thinking (and I mean that; no sarcasm
that if you check out some of his classic stuff from many years ago, especially the 2 albums Amerigo referred to; Highway 61 and Bringin' It All Back Home ( along with Blonde on Blonde) it's possible that you may find them musically, intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally exhilarating ( and then again, maybe not--to paraphrase Joan Baez , he's not for everyone's taste ,but for those for whom he is, he goes "way deep"). To me, at his best( and there's PLENTY of his stuff over the years that isn't), he is a window into the mysteries of the ages. By the way, I went with the drano option too, and this is from someone who has loved his singing over the years; it seemed exactly right for what he was saying and how he was saying it, but lately , even I, as hard core Dylan fan as you could find, can hardly make myself listen to him sing . Infidels, from 1984, as well as his earlier acoustic albums have some amazing stuff too. Some great stuff more recently too, but the quality has become more sporadic IMO.

4. "Infidels"...Mark Knopfler, Mick Taylor, Sly & Robbie..."Jokerman," "Sweetheart Like You"...
...for my personal Bob tastes, it was the last "great" album, because you're right...a number of factors DO go into each "Bob," and while the critics may love the modern-day mumbling phlegmatic Bob, I just haven't been able to get behind it at all.

I concur with "Blonde On Blonde" and would also add "Blood On The Tracks"...to a lesser degree, that album's live Rolling Thunder follow-up, "Hard Rain," because I don;t think the whole Rolling Thunder "experience" has aged as well as some of his other work.

7. Stunning version of Idiot Wind on Hard Rain ( if my memory is right; a bigger and bigger "if"

all the time). And yeah, Blood on the Tracks absolutely, just couldn't list every one worth listening to. (well, could have, but didn't). In my completely un-humble opinion, Highway 61 is thw greatest rock and roll album, by anyone , ever. Numero Uno...( with reasonably close competition from London Calling, Born With the Runs, and the Doors' first).

2. After an interview I saw with him, I think you would hear

a recording of Bob Dylan, " I'm Bob Dylan and if I thought you were important enough to talk to I would have called you, go slop around in whatever selfish facade of a life you have, I'm Bob Dylan".
