After her husband Jesse James' dog Cinnabun was returned safely, Sandra Bullock tried to pay it forward by coming to the aid of an adorable little dog on the loose while driving in Long Beach today.

2. As long as she didn't endanger other people by doing this.
I love dogs probably more than most people, but I wouldn't take the chance of killing someone's parent to save a puppy. Hopefully, Bullock remained aware of surrounding traffic while she did this.

3. It looks like traffic is stopped at a light
so I would hope someone's parent is slowing down to a stop, too ;)

Link doesn't say where this happened. She's a resident of Austin, Texas, right?

11. A few months ago I was in a similar situation on a busy cross street
ALL the cars stopped and a bunch of us got out to try to catch the idiot little yappy dog that was tearing down the middle of the street. The dog was having a great time - the owners who were chasing it, not so much. I almost got hold of the dog three times and all three times it took off just as I was about to grab it. Since I cannot chase a dog, when it ran off I got back in my car and waited until people started waving cars forward.

The next day there was a "Thank you" in the local paper from the owners to all the people who tried to help. Apparently once the dog got a little tired, it went back to the owners. Meanwhile according to the little article in the paper, as many as twenty or thirty cars with one or two people per car had stopped to help and more cars stopped to make it safer for the people and the little dog.

4. It looks like the person taking the photo is in a stopped car
They had to have been stopped long enough to notice it's Sandra Bullock, unless they were paparazzi following her.

Not something you'll find on your average phonecam. Sure it could have been someone with a pocket camera, but how many people have one handy all the time? ;)

5. Poor dog. I wonder how that happened. One of my cats was found injured on the side of a highway.
He's a great cat.

14. Bullock Is Up for an Oscar for Best Actress
The voting is taking place right now, so this story about her saving a dog could swing some votes.

18. I Dunno. Who Can Really Know?
Edited on Sat Feb-20-10 11:41 PM by Yavin4
It's awfully suspicious that a camera just happens to catch her trying to rescue a cute dog in the street.

Ever watch that show TMZ? A lot of the time, a celebrity's publicist will tell them where that celebrity will be that day so that the cameras can "catch" them and ask them questions. Often celebs show up just when they have a movie about to come out.
