cancer but the government wants to stop women in their forties from getting mammograms. The woman had cancer that was discovered at 43. She says that if government health care takes place then she wouldn't have had a mammogram and then she would have had a worse survival result.

SHE'S LYING> Women with a history of breast cancer in their family do get the mammogram.

What a horrid ad. It was for starting to renegotiate health care reform from scratch.

1. Question...
If you do not have a history, do you still get the mammogram?

2. I forget the details of said plan. I do know that mammograms

are bit effective for women (in their forties) who still have some bulk if their breasts. You can't see anything so it is an actual danger because you may feel safe after a mammogram when in fact you are not. As you head into your 50s and breast tissue becomes softer... mammograms work. But yeah, I think if you have a history of breast cancer then all sorts of tests are mandated for you. I just caught a lie in that ad and felt I had to post it somewhere.

3. There's no "government health care" on the table.

Even the much-vaunted and ever-less-likely "public option" has turned into a mere exchange of private insurers.

edit: did you catch a paid-for-by disclaimer?

7. No but they did say they wanted health care reform started all over again from scratch
so we know that was the repuke talking point yesterday.

4. Right, there is no plan for "government health care"
(which is actually a pity, since real government health care would cost less and cover more people).

Obama's plan relies entirely on private insurers, but the Dems have done such a lousy job of salesmanship that most people don't know that.

5. I thought the Obama administration's point person on this said

that there would be no push from government to change any policy regarding mammograms, that it would still be up to woman and her doctor.

Ummm... yup, I was right

6. I heard the add and knew it was full of ****. Plus at the end they basically said
"start health care reform from scratch". So we know it was a quick add put up by the GOP.
