A friend of mine stuck a garlic clove in his ear.
His cousin told him it would releive pain. It got stuck in his ear,so he had to go a doctor to get it removed. While the doc was attempting to remove it,he goes "Oops!". Lorne goes "what do you mean, oops". The doc says he drew blood inside the ear,but not the ear drum. Finally he gets it out.
Lorne says he still has pain,a sore ear,and can still smell garlic. I was laughed so hard, tears were rolling down my cheeks.

3. Use a CLOVE! Not a garlic clove.
Tell your friend he used the wrong thing. Try again. A clove. It'll work!

4. The OP WAS the punch line. Reminds me of a story Leo Bisgalia (sp?) told.
He wrote the book "Living, Loving, and Learning" and unfortunately is no longer with us. Anyway,...

He never missed a day of school. He attributed that to his mother's belief that if you wear a clove of garlic around your neck it will ward off any germs that might make you sick. It worked. He never missed a day. He attributed it not to the garlic warding off germs, but rather that because of the garlic none of the other kids ever got CLOSE enough to him to make him sick.

5. Yeah,well Lorne is 40 years old.
Why not go see a doctor if he's hurting? Money is not a problem for him.

7. Eustachion tube. I believe that's why he can still smell the garlic.
It's the tube that connects the middle ear to the nasal passage, if I remember correctly.

I think it might also be what causes changes in altitude to make you feel like your ears are plugged.

8. Seriously, you can cure earaches with garlic,
but that's not how you do it. You should steam the garlic clove until it's soft, then mush it up into a little ball, and set it right inside your ear -- don't jam it in -- and hold it in place with a piece of cotton. The next morning you pull the cotton out and the garlic comes with it. I used to do this with my kids a lot when they were little, and it always worked. Saved a lot of unnecessary trips to the doctor and unnecessary antibiotics.
