I just got back from seeing Al Stewart in concert.
My wife and I saw him at 'Eddie's Attic' here in Decatur, adjacent to Atlanta. It's a very small venue, maybe 150 people or so. We were about 15 feet away from him. It was just him and one other guy. They both played acoustic guitar. He played a lot of obscure, wonderful stuff from his decades of career, and the few songs we all heard on FM radio back in the day.

It was a very intimate concert. He told great stories between songs.

If you ever get a chance to see him, I highly recommend it.

He has had a pretty amazing life. Read about it at Wikipedia:

3. His guitarist on tour these days is Dave Nachmanoff.
Who played lead acoustic very well. On stage he was a little overbearing when he spoke and he played six songs of his own that were ok, but paled next to Al's great catalogue.

But he was a very good guitar wingman for Al. You can read about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Nachmanoff

They have a live album called 'Uncorked.' I bought a copy last night and Al signed it for me. He was very nice, staying for a long while after the concert talking to people and signing autographs.

9. Cats HATE Chinese people.
.
Their bigotry stems from their belief that ANYONE who believes
that ANY year is other than "The Year of the Cat" is a MAROON!!!

8. I've got to get on his mailing list.
A friend of mine saw him somewhere in Virginia (Charlottesville, probably) and thought he was amazing. I'm a fan of his from way back and would love to see him.
