2. So glad you are back. I always look for the 'real' L O S T thread and haven't seen it lately.
But I am thankful for the others, of course.

Here is a weird video I made a while back with weird, soothing music. I think.

13. oh crap, HUGE clue given in the replay of last week's episode
at the bottom of the screen, it just referenced what Widmore said to Locke:

That if he doesn't get to the Island, the WRONG side would win.

So is that just a HUGE clue that Jacob is the bad guy, NOT Esau (fauxlocke?

27. i like the dichotomy of alternate ben turning from good to bad
while island ben is slowly redeeming himself. Ben's speech during the season finale, right before he kills Jacob is one of the painful speeches you'll hear on TV. He, and Richard, are two men who devoted their lives to the island only to see everything they stood for turned upside down and destroyed.

37. Meh I felt it more filler in some areas
although great insight into Ben. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed it, but thought the Claire ep from 2 weeks ago a bit better. Still - awesome ep - and looks like things are bout to get crazy! Everything is in place, sides have been chosen, and Whidmore is on the horizon! Too bad I knew Alan Dale plays Whidmore - saw his name in the credits so when he hadn't shown up by the final minute... doh. Man - good stuff. :)

56. I didn't think it was filler at all.
I view the show as more of a character sketch than a plot-driven series. Sure I want answers to the questions, but the transitions/transformations the characters are making seem more important to the overall theme of the work and this episode had that to a crazy level.

57. I guess I should say compared to last week's action packed ep
this seemed a bit.. less. Heh. Was still a great ep, as can be said about most of Lost, just not my fav of the season. The decisions made by Ben were classic - he semi-redeemed himself. I was shocked when he was given a choice to go back with Sun, Lapidis and the others that he chose that over the option to o with the fake Locke and "rule the island". Very interesting. Looks like Ben is finally starting to admit to some of his actions have been wrong. Which is maybe the result Jacob was looking for all along? Hmmm...

41. I think I figured out what the island is (potentially a SPOILER, unless I figured it out wrong)
I think it's the Garden of Eden, Jacob is the angel who's supposed to guard it from Adam & Eve returning and MIB is the flaming sword--the Original Security System. So Jacob's the bad guy cause he got bored just keeping humanity out of Eden and Smokey is the other bad guy cause he's been trying to leave the sentry post God put them both at ever since the island's guardian started luring people onto the island out of boredom.

That makes Ilana, as Jacob's daughter, a Nephilim.

43. I said it last week (or was it the week before), and I'm gonna say it again
It's a cork. Check out the clues from E! Online in the recap this week:

That Four-Letter Word…For you who are still guessing the four-letter word that describes what the island is, here are the clues you know:

* It has one vowel.
* It has no A's and no E's.

And here's your new clue:

* Umm...Please don't whine that I can't say anything more right now! Sorry!

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b171005_lost_redux_wait_are_they_all_gonna_live.html?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=rss_topstories

(Bold emphasis mine.) Why am I bringing it up again? BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY THING ABOUT LOST THAT I'VE EVER GUESSED RIGHT!

Now...what's it corking? The bowels of hell? That's my vote.

It's existence is stoppering up something, and if the island is not tended, whatever it is that it's preventing from getting out WILL get out and make a mess of life on earth (evil?)

60. In the side timeline, after the island is destroyed... all the characters are fixing themselves.
They're not perfect, but they each seem to be doing a slightly better job of muddling through life and solving their hang ups. Even Locke's dad seemed to be less of a bastard. Did Jack & Juliet blowing up the island actually kill evil in the world?

64. I don't know about killing evil
but something. Locke is still paralyzed. Sayid was still a torturer (though certainly doing a better job of redemption). But they seem to be on better paths when they aren't being manipulated by the evil Jacob  We don't even know if Sawyer is still a con man.

65. I think they hinted at that in the airplane, when he cautioned Hurley about revealing his wealth.
Of course that could just be a set up. We'll know how "redeemed" Sawyer is when we do his flashback. If people are calling him James instead of Sawyer, he's on the path to self improvement. Actually, I'm more interested in seeing the slidetimewise version of Jin and Sun. I just don't see how he'll get back to the plucky fisherman's son he once was. In Island time, it's been three years since he's seen his wife. I'm pretty sure Sun has had at least a couple of affairs in that time (most likely with Charles Widmore). She's not the most faithful spouse in the world, even if she did manage to keep her mitts off Michael.

47. I have a somewhat similar theory...
I hadn't actually thought of it as "The Garden of Eden" but that is a good idea. I was thinking more in the lines of them being angels testing men. Or possibly living out a punishment from god. I reminds me somewhat of Bartleby and Loki's situation from the movie Dogma. Or Lucifer's stance as written in Memnoch the Devil. I don't know if there is a "good" or "bad" side. There are a few things tht the Man in Black has said that make me think this. "They come, they kill, they destroy , they corrupt, it always ends the same." Makes me think that he is not "evil" Also, when he tells, I think Sawyer, that he has been hurt and he has loved and that he wanted to go home. This leads me to think that possibley they have be forced there by "god" These are just thoughts. Sorry if they are incoherent. I know what the hell I am trying to say. I think. So, it goes with LOST.
