Am I a bad DUer if I don't know who the hell Dylan Ratigan is?

Whenever I look at GD in the afternoon, I see about a dozen threads saying "Dylan Ratigan just said this" and "Dylan Ratigan just said that". I have to admit I was totally 100% oblivious as to who the hell Dylan Ratigan was. I actually broke down and did a Google, and turns out he is a host of a MSNBC show. Up to that point, I didn't even know whether Dylan Ratigan was a man or a woman, that's how in the dark I was about Dylan Ratigan.

TV news is crap.

Being tucked away in the office all day without a TV, it's just a whole other world to me, what goes on in TVland during the day.

Maybe Jeopardy but thats only 1 half hour of daytime TV thats watchable. I don't know how anyone can stand it.

What's this MSNBC thing?

I had no idea.

Whenever they's a fight so hungry people can eat, Dylan Ratigan is there. Whenever they's a cop beatin' up a guy, Dylan Ratigan is there... He's in the way guys yell when they're mad an'--he's in the way kids laugh when they're hungry an' they know supper's ready. An' when our folks eat the stuff they raise an' live in the houses they build--why, Dylan Ratigan is there, too!

either. And I don't know why I'm supposed to care.

We are all required to know everyone on the cable news shows, especially MSNBC, which is spelled M$NBC by the congnoscenti.

Further, every morning a crew is drafted to watch and complain about something this guy Joe said or did, and comment on his probability of sobriety. Points are awarded for comments complaining about his main female sidekick, but everyone else seems ot be off limits.

During the day, it's mostly boring actual news, so although everyone who is able to is still required to watch, most fall asleep but one or two remain awake to scream bloody murder in the event a Republican is interviewed without being drawn and quartered. Or if, God forbid, something nice is said about a Republican, even a dead one. Once a week, outrage is allowed for interviewing someone like an actor or musician who isn't political enough for our tastes-- how dare they offend us and waste our time with such fluff!

In the evening, the Dylan person, along with a Keith person and a Rachel person, are required viewing and there are often tests. No boring news there, just uncensored opinions and Pure Truth. There's a Tweety in there somewhere who once worked for Carter but now is considered generally a bad person because he doesn't use at least half his show to trash Republicans. There must be at least one thread a day trashing him for something.

To be honest, I don't watch or listen to the people that I constantly read DUers gushing about how they are on fire and what-not.
