This is an emotional issue. Right now please don't hurt me, DU.

I'm sorry that I've objectified Bryan Ferry on this messageboard. I promise that I will not do that again, to him or anyone else. We are all human beings, not sex objects.

I'm so embarrassed.

2. make fun of you?
Never. I love Roxy Music and while I prefer the older Eno-era stuff, Bryan Ferry's later material is fun too.

6. I love Roxy Music!
I missed the part where you "objectified Bryan Ferry". You think he's attractive?

Anyway...even though someone informed me that Bryan Ferry is politically conservative, I think he's a great performer and Roxy Music is one of my favorites. The Brian Eno era was the best, but they were great after he left, too.

14. See, I'm one of those fans who thinks they were and still are great.
They changed a lot of over the years, but it was always was fascinating.

BTW: I'm listening to Bryan Ferry's "Bete Noire" right now. Yes, he's a conservative, but he's a BRITISH conservative, which is a differance. He's a singer, though, not a politician, so ultimately the music is more important.

Yes, I think he's attractive, but I wouldn't want to date him or anything like that. He's more of a friend to me, although I don't know him personally. His music is very initimate and passionate. Also, few men have sung so well about crying and feelings of loss. Check out "Oh Yeah (On the Radio)" on "Flesh + Blood" and his version of "River of Salt" on "These Foolish Things."

17. He seems like he'd be fun at parties.
And I don't care about his politics either. He's nothing at all like Toby Keith. :)

7. I started playing music in the desperate hope that I WOULD be seen as a sex object
These are normal human feelings and nothing whatsoever to be ashamed or embarrassed about. Especially when those feelings are for artists whose work moves you.:hi:

15. Thank you! This comes out of a fear that I've had for too long.
When I was a teenager I was looking at this picture of Brian Eno:

And my brother wrote on the picture, "I am an art fag."

I got so embarrassed. It's haunted me so much. I was looking at an early Roxy Music video of "Virginia Plain" where both Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno were wearing bright eye shadow and jiggling around like well, "art fags." Unfortunately, I still have a lot of internalized homophobia, even though I try to be proud that I bisexual. There is a lot of bad feelings put forward about men who express interest in art, camp humor, and expressing their sad emotions. I love Roxy Music, Brian Eno, Bryan Ferry, and everyone else associated with the group over the years because they were so opened with it. They aren't homosexuals or bisexuals themselves, but Bryan Ferry was/is best friends with a fashion designer named Antony Price, who is openly gay.
