Loud Neighbors next door...what to do?
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 10:19 PM by Stuart G
At what time on a Sunday eve is a loud party too loud?...

Very disturbing repetive loud bass music..No way I can think of sleeping..or even calming down. 20 to 30 next door (townhouse, we share a common wall) yelling, loud noise through the walls..In Central Time..it is now 10:15..So any advise on when to tell them to try to "keep the noise down. trying to get to sleep.."

I usually go to sleep at about 10pm..

..............Stuart G.

1. Until you said Cental time I thought you might be my neighbor.
Mine are having some kind of 50 person impromptu block party in our alley. I can't even leave to someplace quieter, they've spread their coolers and stereo and crap out behind my car.

I wish they'd come by and told me in advance, I'd have made plans out of the house. Unfortunately they're inconsiderate assholes, and they have terrible taste in music to boot.

so they can get the party quieted down by 10:30 - 11. Should be 10 on Sunday but I would give them a little extra. Have YOU (OP, not Graywarrior) gone over and asked nicely yet?

7. About 5 minutes ago, at almost 10:30 ...the music stopped..
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 10:37 PM by Stuart G
and the noise level was cut maybe 75 to 80 percent.. Someone around here may have called the cops. You could hear it all over

..but I am amazed at the difference...
No yelling, a little loud talking..actually not so bad....much much better..
.Don't know...just grateful

5. If asking politely didn't work and I shared a common wall,
I'd use a combination of microwaves and ozone.

8. nuke 'em
I'm kidding...

But seriously most places have a time (ordinance/law?) where the noise level has to be lowered. It also goes for early in the morning. For instance you don't run your lawn mower at 6 am.

10. Lose your curtains...and your clothes.
They'll be begging to negotiate the next day.

11. I remember ignoring a loud party next door...
.
...in an apartment complex because it was a Saturday night.
.
Until one of the couples leaving the party actually started
humping one another ENTHUSI-FUCKING-ASTICALLY AGAINST
MY FRONT DOOR!!!
.
I timed it JUST right by the noise and YANKED open the door
and they both FELL into my apartment!!!
.

.
That's not me rolling on the floor laughing -- that's EXACTLY
what they looked like.
.
.
.
.

.
Now THAT was me.

12. There was once a party going on next door. Didn't bother me much but it was loud
and went on and on. Talked to my landlady a day later and it turns out nobody in the building was hosting the party. A troop of partygoers just decided to have a party outside our building. LOL!
