1. Love the old stuff!
I'm lucky my daughter likes all kinds of music. She was raised on 60's and 70's rock. :-)

I seem to remember that you had been going through some tough times, and I hope that things have gotten better for you....yeah, I'd just been thinking about April 18th being the "midnight ride" so figured I'd post either The Allman's Midnight Rider or something by Paul Revere, (which I've always thought has been a very underrated band, in the greater general cosmology of rocknroll.)
And being a terminal rocknroll junkie, I always liked the juxtaposition of Midnight Ride of Paul Revere and The Raiders. I've used it in classroom settings, but the kids never get it. They used to occasionally when I'd speculate if, in medieval times, did they party like it was 999? Not any more though. And I've had maybe one or two kids catch the joke, over the years, when the word parliament came up in a history class, I admonished them to not get it confused with Funkadelic.
Cool to have a kid that appreciates a wide variety of music including the old stuff. I regularly see kids with Beatles, Ramones and Led Zep t -shirts today, along with current bands of course, which is good; I hope R&R will always be a living breathing, evolving thing that each generation makes relevant to their own lives and times.
