Some more good work at that site...I don't know much about graphics software, but I am impressed with the detail...

2. Really nice.
As to answer the question: Excellent models, superb textures and professional render-engine. I bet it's VRay here, and the software used either 3dsMax or C4D. And then still you have to tweak all the render settings, for example, reflection/refraction amount of textures, etc. to get a realism feeling to it. Not easy ...

Oh, and postwork, too, for color correction, enhancements, etc.

4. Yep. The devil's in the details.
Note how they even went to the trouble of putting scuffs and dirt on the plane, especially on the engine and under the wing. That detail is all over - you have to have a really good lighting model that gets the shadows and shading right, a reflection model that handles things like bump-maps that alter the mirror-images a little bit from divots in the plane's skin, just lots and lots and lots of details.

5. Exactly, and it's probably
rendered in multiple passes, then layered. :hi:

6. yeah, the grime and reflections and little details
like small stickers and logos really make the difference (i was certain this was a photo at first until i saw the plain, too-empty background...He gets extra credit because I've been a huge B747 fan since childhood...
