2. My dear Sannum...
Yikes! All of them?

I would expect that fixing them would be a priority...I hope.

How many floors are there?

I hope you're not on the top...

I'd go out to eat and hope for tomorrow!

3. I'm on the 19th of 20 floors...
It is a vintage building, so the stairs are tiny - I use the stairmaster at the gym and work-out, but going up them this afternoon nearly killed me.

I would even take the creepy service elevator that smells bad right now. I am really angry.

4. Oh absolutely! Take the service elevator!
I expect management is aware of the situation...

If not, then you need to be the squeaky wheel...

And even if they are aware, still start complaining!

Good Luck!

5. It isn't working either. No idea what happened.
Every half hour I call and they say it will be "an hour or two".

I love my building, but a walk-up isn't looking so bad right now.

10. I wish I had taken you up on your offer, Batman...
I slipped on the stairs between the 8th and 7th floors and took a nasty spill.

I am covered in bruises now. I am lucky I didn't fall face first!

13. Oh, that sucks!
Hope you're okay, Sannum! Do you have ice packs at home? Ointment?

Believe me, I can imagine how you feel. At my previous apartment, I lived on the 7th floor and the elevator was out of service VERY often. I remember one super-hot day in August, leaving the apartment to go to the grocery store, and the elevator worked fine. Got back about an hour later with a week's worth of groceries plus a case of mineral water. No elevator. As a matter of fact, someone was stuck in the damn thing between floors.

I had never known before that I was capable of using so much foul language.

15. Set a pigeon trap on the ledge.
Do you have a shoe box and a string? Perhaps a rudimentary lathe?

16. When the "management office" opens, I am going to curse like never before.
They "think" they will have at least one elevator working by tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, I can hardly move my left side and I have a bruise from my head to my ankle.

No answers, nada. I think they are hoping people do not notice. If I managed the building, you would be sure that a rep from the building would be knocking on doors, finding a way to compensate and putting signs on elevators, etc.

There is simply no communication.

I am little, but I can be very mean. It might be time to go apartment hunting.

17. Some supermarkets will deliver, you can shop online.
Stop & Shop in Boston area is called PeaPod, though I don't know if they charge for delivery.

18. They won't climb 20 flights and climb back down again.
I wouldn't ask anyone to do that - I am physically fit and I really injured myself with a tumble down the dark stairs.

My building manager response? "What do you expect me to do about that?"

I am so very angry right now. Unimaginable.

21. Any reason why you can't walk it??
You don't have to do groceries today, since that might be difficult to carry everything up that many flights, but you can still go out to get something to eat, right?
