‘Kick-Ass’ star, 19, engaged to 43-year-old
nt

The two met in 2009 on the set of her directorial debut, Nowhere Boy. In it Johnson played a young John Lennon and the two immediately hit it off. Engaged months after meeting and already living together, Johnson brushes off critics about their whirlwind romance saying, "I'm an old soul and she's a young soul."

As the couple prepare for the arrival of their baby this summer, Johnson say he's "excited" and insists that he is undaunted by the challenges of fatherhood. "It's not scary," he says. "I'm already a stepdad to anyway. So the nerves have sort of gone."

1. I guess love has no age.
But I'd be a little creeped out if my step-child was six years younger than me.

3. It's not your age holding you back.
It's your hatred of all things Dallas Cowboys related.

It doesn't look good on you.

15. Your husband sounds like a good man (unless he happens to vote Republican)
I don't know which is more conflicting - An Eagle's fan that votes Republican or a Cowboy's fan that votes Democrat.

What part of Delaware - I'm in Wilmington

17. Yeah..
He's a good guy. And yes, he USED to be a Republican. I showed him the light. :-). Can't seem to bring him over to the Cowboys though.

I grew up in Wilmington. Lived there till I was 14, right around the corner from St. Francis hospital. My was a nurse there for many years.

We moved to Bear, right after I started high school. And I've stayed in the area.

7. "I'm an old soul and she's a young soul." Great, so his soul is a pedophile.
It was a good career move for Ashton, too.

19. *Sigh*
My bad. Apparently the word "pedophile" isn't conducive to subtle wordplay.

I thought it'd be obvious that when I say 19 year old's soul is pedophilic for his hooking up with a 40 something, people would be able to see through to the obvious frivolity.

I misjudged. I'm sure it'll happen again.

16. How can one be a 'pedophile' when all parties are over the age of 18?
And if he was 43 years old and she was 19 we wouldn't be having this discussion or feign of being shocked.

18. Actually, yes, I think we would hear quite a few people expressing outrage at the age disparity
Edited on Mon Apr-26-10 03:44 PM by Bucky
You'll note, I hope, that I said his "old soul" was a pedophile relative to its soul-mating with her "young soul"--an obviously ludicrous response to the kid's obviously insipid puppy love. After all, we don't know just how old her soul is. Based on her soul mate choice, I'm guessing 14ish.

24. Double-agree.
I'm in my late 20s and I wouldn't date a 19 year-old.

What could they possibly have to talk about or relate about?

21. as an older woman, i don't know that i would want to be married to a man young enough to be my kid
what do they really have in common?

a 19 year old man? 43 year old woman? what do they have in common? is he a fan of 80's music?

Hell he isn't even old enough to legally enjoy a glass of merlot here in the US. Perhaps she wants to "teach him" and likes that role but to be honest I don't know that I would feel comfortable with that much of an age divide.

But in conclusion, to each their own as long as no one is geting hurt.

26. as someone who has dated people older and younger than I am
a couple of them considerably so, it really depends on the person. And honestly, I've known people who were my age who I thought were immature and had nothing in common with. I guess what I am trying to say is, they're adults, so it doesn't bother me, and you never know who you will click with.

Meh, too Freudian for me, maybe he just loves her and she loves him?
