I'm going to a wedding AND a divorce party this Saturday.

I love the irony.

Here the situation:

A friend and former coworker of Mrs. Arbusto is getting married this Saturday afternoon. She invited us to her wedding, and we've been planning for a month now to attend.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from another friend, who knows nothing of the wedding, and doesn't even know the first friend (seperate groups of people). This friend is throwing a party for another friend of hers whose divorce has just finalized. That will be Saturday night.

So, we're going to a wedding in the afternoon, and a divorce party at night.

Myabe we should hit a midnight open-casket viewing, a christening, a Bar Mitzvah and a briss over the rest of the weekend. You know, to get the whole "Circle of Life" experience...

so they know what to expect.

But yes, they could use the object lesson.

It would also be pretty cool if you weren't ignoring me for some unknown reason.

Maybe there's something in the office fridge that would serve as a gift for one or the other occasion.

though at least it wasn't "divorce party" followed by "wedding" . that would be tacky.

First I've ever heard of it, but apparently they are trendy now.

But from what I understand about the marriage of the woman in whose honor this party will be, she really has something to celebrate. Her husband was a real bastard, apparently.

(by myself) and got a bunch of lap dances the day my divorce was finalized. That was my party. Then, a year later, on the anniversary of my divorce, I went back there again.

so Gawd only knows how this party will end up.
