I wonder...
I'm watching JFK: 3 Shots That Changed America.

And I wonder what kind of country we'd have had John and Bobby Kennedy, MLK, and Malcom X not been murdered. What do you think would be different, if anything.

I think about my parents, my dad who marched in DC for civil rights, my mom who still gets teary when talking about the Kennedy assassinations (both), and think about the values they raised me with. Both loved these men, that were taken from us much too soon, and I wonder...did they help shape the way I was raised? Help shape my beliefs, through my parents?

I wasn't around during their time here, everything I've learned I've read, watched, or learned from my family.

So I don't know that I can make an accurate "guess" as to what things would be like, but I believe from all I've learned that things would be so much better.

What do you think?

1. My dear one_voice...
I think that the country would be in a lot better place, if those men had lived.

I cannot guess just how things would be better...

I just think they would be.

IF the corporations and the people they buy had let things be better.

2. Hi Ms. Peggy...
I think we would have had Universal Health care by now. Republicans weren't big shitheads (not as big anyway) like they are now. I think there was Republican support for it. If I'm not mistaken..even Nixon tried to pass something. I also think we might have come further on gay rights than we are.

And I have to wonder, if the religious right would have come into play the way they have. Maybe a more liberal Supreme Court.

Oh well, can't change history. *sigh*
