So I got a call today from an old friend. Hadn't heard from him in several months.

He said he was on the way to Home Depot so he thought he'd give me a call.

Should I have told him to call me back on my cell phone? As long as we were going to talk I might as well go to the grocery store and get some shopping done at the same time?

I once had a woman return my call (fixed up by a friend) for a first phone chat. Lots of noise in the background. I asked what was all the noise and she said she was making lunch. And that she always liked to keep busy and not just waste time blah-blahing on the phone. I ended the call as soon as I could...

I had a friend like you, who bitched about having
COMPLETE attention, during every conversation.

I work full-time, have two (non-driving) teenagers,
take care of an elderly aunt, and a crazy mother
who lives across the street AND keep my husband
amused.

Sometimes the only time I HAVE to talk to anyone
else is when I'm driving.

Take it or leave it.

P.S. I still have that friend, but since he
finally got a computer and got on-line, he
has something else to do with his retired-ass
time than bluster because others don't pay enough
attention to him.
