Need help identifying a song.
This might be tough, because I don't remember any of the lyrics and can only describe the sound that is repeating relentlessly through my head. The song is often used as background music when the characters (young men) are getting into hot water / trouble / 'high spirits' kind of thing, and shows up in period movies.

OK. This is going to be slightly ridiculous, but it intermixes kind of bawdy saxophone with voices.

Sax: Rhaahh rah rah, (voice: boom boom boom boom), rhaah rah rah (voice: boom boom boom boom) rrah rah rah -- and over and over and over...

Help me, please, so I can exorcise this earworm.

John Lee Hooker "Boom Boom"

Various recorded versions, some with harmonica... used in a lot of movies though.

Like the Blues Brothers, the ultimate "two guys getting into trouble" movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn_PF4L470w

7. love the song, but that's not it...
I should probably be clearer: there is no literal "boom boom" but that's just sorta what it sounds like in the background.

Oh, I'm going to go crazy, because I don't have the right words to describe this!

It's often used in movies about the 50s/60s... I think. ARGH!

EDIT ADD: Okay. I lied. The song has a sax solo.

10. Could it be more of a sound effect than a song?
A similar type of thing is a repetitive, eerie, echo-y riff that is used to convey mystery and suspense, and I've heard it used in different films over the years.

Or maybe some other tune by "The Champs"?

12. Long, long shot... "Rebel Rouser" by Duane Eddy?

I seem to recall it being used in a lot of movies, and has sort of that call-and-response between the voices, sax and guitar. It's from 1958, so would fit into a lot of nostalgia movies.

What do we win?
